A rally against online censorship that took place in San Francisco over the weekend quickly went south the moment that Antifa counterprotesters showed up and started violently assaulting people.
Far-left agitators donned with anti-fascist flags and other regalia reportedly bashed in the tooth of Philip Anderson, one of the rally’s organizers, as well as toppled a man wearing a pro-Trump t-shirt who had to be taken to the hospital for his injuries – all of this to supposedly make a statement against fascism.
An Associated Press (AP) photographer also early on witnessed a San Francisco police officer sustain injuries in United Nations Plaza upon attempting to stop Antifa from committing violence against the pro-free speech crowd. This officer was quickly rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Organized by “Team Save America,” the rally aimed to draw attention to social media censorship of the New York Post‘s Hunter Biden bombshell story, which exposes Joe Biden as a treasonous, lying criminal.
Many Team Save America rallygoers were seen wearing “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) hats and t-shirts, as well as “Thin Blue Line” flags in adoration of police officers. These far-right symbols apparently upset Antifa, which quickly descended in order to make its own statement.
According to Anderson, Antifa counterprotesters attacked him “for no reason,” leaving him with a bloody mouth and dangling tooth. Anderson, by the way, is a black man.
“You knocked my tooth out, but you’re saying black lives matter,” Anderson added. “I love America and I love this country, but I want free speech.”
Around 1pm on Oct. 17, Anderson took to a stage that was set up for the rally in front of the city’s federal building, only to be met with angry chants and projectiles being launched his way. Antifa reportedly lobbed glass bottles and other debris over police barricades that were erected to try to keep the rally peaceful.
When these efforts failed, the rally, which had about 10 people in attendance, ultimately had to be canceled, though members of both sides lingered around the park throughout the afternoon. No arrests were made, though multiple people were injured in the altercations that ensued.
“After minutes of heated arguing about fascism and black lives matter, a man dressed in black punches an organizer from Team Save America rally who showed up to escort out a man wearing an Info Wars shirt outnumbered by counter protesters,” tweeted Mallory Moench.
“The two men hopped the police barrier.”
According to Anderson, the Antifa counterprotesters who assaulted him and others are blatant hypocrites, solidifying why he has decided to vote for Donald Trump in 2020.
“I love America, I love this country, and I love free speech,” Anderson, who self-identifies as a member of the Proud Boys, proclaimed.
All in all, six people were injured throughout the day, including three police officers.
The counterprotest eventually moved down the street with Antifa and Black Lives Matter (BLM) protesters screaming from bullhorns things like “say his name!” and “protect black men!” as they held up signs with pictures of George Floyd on them.
“These are people who have been hurt for hundreds, if not thousands, of years,” stated Mara Coleman, a 20-year-old BLM protester from San Mateo. “What do you expect? It’s not our job to be peaceful. You don’t get justice, you take justice.”
Coleman went on to declare that “all cops are bull****,” suggesting that they should not be supported by anyone within the current police state paradigm.
