Video sharing platform TikTok has reportedly censored a video of talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw promoting his interview with former President Donald Trump.
The TV host and retired psychologist recounted this censorship before a live audience who joined him during a recent episode of his program “Dr. Phil Primetime.” He told them: “We put up promos on the social media platforms about the interview for people to watch, and we submitted a promo to TikTok. And they said: ‘Well, we’re going to review [it]. We need to review this to see if it’s consistent with community standards.'”
According to McGraw, the review process usually lasts around “10 seconds” as the algorithm checks to ensure the video “doesn’t have something in it that shouldn’t be there.” But an hour after his team submitted the promotional video for the interview, TikTok replied in the negative, saying that the video has been rejected.
“They would not put it up, which is really disturbing because it was just a news promo. It’s not like I’m a known conspiracy wacko or something, and I’ve got seven [million] or eight million followers there. So it’s not like I’m an unknown person to them,” he continued.
“But they wouldn’t put it up because it had Trump in it. They didn’t even know if it was pro or con – it had Trump in it. They wouldn’t put it up. That’s concerning to me.”
McGraw nevertheless defended the decision to upload the promotional video on TikTok. “We put it on there because we wanted to get to young people: ‘Hey, watch this and find out who this really is. Maybe you’ll hate him,'” he said. “So at least you’ll know it will be based on fact.”
McGraw’s interview with Trump was uploaded to X, garnering well over 1.6 million views thus far. The former president touched on his trials, the upcoming presidential election in November, the Biden administration, America’s future and much more.
“You have to be very strong,” Trump told the TV host in one part of the interview. “You’re fighting very evil forces, and they’re very smart forces.”
According to the former president, incumbent President Joe Biden is being controlled by “very evil forces” with a “sick ideology.” He added: “There are people that control Biden, totally true. I think I know who they are largely.
McGraw also shared that people are reaching out to him who weren’t fans of the former president before. Now, these people have decided to vote for him after seeing the country’s state under Biden.
“Dr. Phil is dominating the news – and for good reason – because he had the courage and the boldness to speak with Trump. Followers of Trump said that when [he] sat down with Dr. Phil for an hour-long interview, it was fantastic,” 100 Percent Fed Up wrote.
“It’s those people who traditionally haven’t been that political or perhaps even people who traditionally have not supported Trump but who are now speaking up and coming to his defense because they see the entire Biden regime weaponized against him for no good reason other than pure abuse of power and they fear for the future of America.” (Related: Dr. Phil urges Biden to DISMISS bogus charges, verdict against Trump.)
